DUSHABE, December 18, Asia-Plus  — On Monday December 17, President Emomali Rahmon held a hook-up conference with participation of heads of Rasht, Tavildara, Tojikobod, Jirgatol, Bokhtar, and Jomi districts as well as the city of Qurghon Teppa, presidential press service said.  

The heads of town and district administrations gave the head of state an account of the state of affairs by phone.  The participants of the conference mainly focused the issues related to a progress of the autumn sowing campaign, developing new lands, enhancing potato growing, rehabilitating and creating gardens and vineyards, as well as providing educational facilities with coal and firewood during month months.  

The president set specific tasks to efficiently use so-called “presidential” lands and ensure administration of local budgets.  

The president, in particular, charged the Qurghon Teppa mayor to intensify work to improve the city and provide local schools with educational supplies, including computers.  

He also called on local authorities to provide assistance to elderly and disabled people, orphan children and other vulnerable sections of the population on occasion of the upcoming Idi Qurbon holiday.

As it had been reported earlier, the head of state held a similar hook-up conference with participation of heads of the cities of Vahdat and Roghun as well as Fayzobod, Nourobod and Yovon districts and deputy head of the Khuroson district  on December 15.
