DUSHANBE, December 25, Asia-Plus  — A striking New Year’s show for children, staged by the Dushanbe mayor’s office,  will be held at the Dushanbe Circus on December 30.   

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that both professional circus artistes and children’s creative groups would take part in the New Year’s show, which is organized for more than 2,000 children, who would also be given New Year’s presents.   

“Theatrical and circus shows will also be organized fro children during winter holidays, from January 3 to January 10,” the spokesman said, noting that all shows will be free of charge.  Funds for organizing the New Year’s activities for children have been provided form the city budget, according to him.   

Nabi Jalolov, director of a December 30 show, said that the theatrical show is based on a work by known Tajik-Persian poet and satirist Ubayd Zakani entitled “Mush va Gurba (Mouse and Cat).
