DUSHANBE, December 26, Asia-Plus  — Officers from Tajikistan’s firefighting service are inspecting facilities and sites of public assembly in the Tajik capital, which will be places for celebrations to mark the New Year holiday, for compliance with fire safety requirements.  

Nazarboy Jangiyev, the chief of the main firefighting directorate of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), told Asia-Plus that those events were aimed at providing safety of population during the New Year’s celebrations.  

According him, they have already prepared a list of facilities and sites of public assembly, where the New Year’s celebrations will be held.  All these places will be inspected for violations of the fire code and compliance with fire safety requirements. 

“Officers from the fighting service will be on duty in these places,” Jangiyev said, noting that on December 31, seven firefighting crews will be on duty on the Dusti Square, which will be place for main New Year”s festivies  alone.
