DUSHANBE, January 2, Asia-Plus  — On December 28, staff of the British Embassy in Dushanbe made a New Year”s visit to elderly people in the Republican Home in Vahdat, press service issued by the British Embassy said. 

The visit was part of a special program the Embassy has arranged to mark the occasions of Christmas and New Year.

“Usually at this time of the year we have an Open Day when we invite children from different communities to come and visit us in our Embassy” explains Mr Graeme Loten, the British Ambassador. “However, this year we decided to do things slightly differently.  At Christmas we held an Open Day for the children of our own staff when they could visit their parents at work and enjoy a Christmas party.  As part of that occasion all the children brought a gift for the elderly people of Vahdat.”

During a December 28, the Embassy staff enjoyed a cup of tea with elderly people and wished them all the best for the New Year ahead.
