DUSHANBE, January 4, Asia-Plus  — The Tourism Development Support Center at Tajik University of Commerce has prepared a guide book on Tajikistan entitled “Welcome to Tajikistan.”

The source at the Tourism Development Support Center told Asia-Plus that the book contained information about Tajik culture and places of interest in the country.

“The guide is made ready for publication,” said the source, “We planned to prepare the guide book by the end of 2006 but because of shortage of information it was prepared only in 2007.”  “Now we have to publish it in a form of brochure and post its electronic version in three languages (Tajik, English and Russian) on the Tourism in Tajikistan site –

www.tourism.tj

.”

The guide book contains information about historical and cultural relics also in the country as well as international organizations active in Tajikistan.

The Tourism Development Support Center was established at Tajik University of Commerce in 2004 under memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF) and Tajik University of Commerce.  The site

www.tourism.tj

was launched in 2005.
