DUSHANBE, January 15, Asia-Plus  — To improve HIV/AIDS supervision in Tajikistan cars VAZ-2107 have been handed over to Tajikistan’s Republican AIDS-Prevention Center for distributing to a number of AIDS-prevention center across the country..

Murodali Rouziyev, Director of Tajikistan’s Republican AIDS-Prevention Center, said that the cars would be distributed to the ADIS centers in Dushanbe, Isfara, Qurghon Teppa, Rudaki, Vahdat, Tursunzoda and Shahritus.  

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has purchased the cars due to $50,000 provided by the UN Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the director said.

According to him, 339 new cases of HIV infection were registered in Tajikistan last year, bring the number of HIV sufferers to 1,049.
