DUSHANBE, January 25, Asia-Plus  — Saydullo Khairulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), today morning met with Tom Hushek, Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy in Dushanbe.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, told Asia-Plus that in the course of the talks Tajik speaker briefed US diplomat on activity of the Tajik professional parliament.  

According to the speaker, level of quality of legislative work in Tajikistan has much improved over the past seven years.  He noted that several political parties are now represented in the party.    

Khairulloyev noted that Tajikistan is interested in having mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States, which has great opportunities to expand and strengthen bilateral relations, the spokesman said.  

Mr. Hushek, for his part, noted that that his country is ready to develop and strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation with Tajikistan, Sultonov said.
