DUSHANBE, April 15, Asia-Plus  — The present drug situation in the region and interaction among member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in combating drug trafficking, terrorism and extremism were major topic of a meeting of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) director Rustam Nazarov with visiting CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha that was held in Dushanbe Monday evening.

In the course of the talks, the Tajik drug control chief briefed the CSTO secretary general on the present drug situation in the region and noted that there is an opinion among some circles that the drug trafficking problem is not connected with the terrorism problem.

“We consider that narcotics are one of main sources of financing international terrorism,” the Tajik drug control chief stressed.
