DUSHANBE, April 16, Asia-Plus  — An official presentation of the public association entitled the Board of Auditors of Tajikistan will be held in Dushanbe today.  

The source at Tajik Auditors’ Board said that it had been established by a group of specialists in audit, accounting and taxation.  The organization is aimed to promote development of audit business, raising professionalism of local auditors and bringing audit activity into compliance with international standards, according to him.    

The presentation ceremony is expected to be attended by senior representatives from Tajikistan’s ministries, banks, audit and consulting companies as well as representatives of the Eurasian Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors (ECCAA) from a number of CIS states and International Federation of Accountants (IFA) .

In the meantime, a general three-day meeting of the ECCAA members opened in Dushanbe yesterday 

Eurasian Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors (ECCAA) was established in December 2001 to both promote the development and increase the status of the accountant and auditor professions, to implement and apply the international professional standards, principles, practice, and ethics developed by the IFAC and the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation (IASCF).  To achieve this aim the ECCAA works in the area of developing and supporting unified qualification requirements for the accountant and auditor professions, based on the IFAC”s recommendations, and participating in the creation and operation of a unified system of testing and certification for accountants and auditors.
