DUSHANBE, May 30, Asia-Plus — The Drug Control Agency (DCA) burned 296 kilograms of drugs today.
Jumaboy Malikov, the head of the DCA investigation department told Asia-Plus that the drugs were confiscated in the course of 2007-2008. According to him, the totaled included 78 kilograms of heroin, 115 kilograms of raw opium, 75.5 kilograms of cannabis and 27.3 kilograms of hashish.
The drugs were destroyed in the presence of representatives of law enforcement agencies and media.
Since the beginning of this year, the counter narcotics agency has burnt more than 500 kilograms of drugs confiscated from drug traffickers.
