DUSHANBE, May 30, Asia-Plus  — Nobody will be able to violate rights of entrepreneurs, if they are well aware of their rights, Economic Development and Trade Minister Ghulomjon Bobozoda announced at a session of the National Association of Small and Medium Business (NASMB) of Tajikistan in Dushanbe on May 29.  

“You should learn to protect your rights,” the minister said, commenting on entrepreneurs’ complains about unauthorized interference of some government bodies in work of the private sector.  

During the meeting, entrepreneurs also touched upon issues related to participation of entrepreneurs in drafting any legal documents concerning entrepreneurship.  

“It is necessary to take into account views of entrepreneurs while discussing draft laws.  Decisions should be made without participation of entrepreneurial sector,” the NASMN chairperson, Ms. Matlouba Uljaboyeva noted.  

She also suggested that the number of inspections of small and medium-sized enterprises should be reduced to one a year.  Ms. Uljaboyeva also offered setting up continuing body for efficient settlement of those subjects.    

The session participants also considered it necessary to define mechanisms of join work business associations and government institutions to efficiently tackling problems facing development of entrepreneurship in Tajikistan. 

For his part, Minister Bobozoda noted that the representatives of business circles should freely participate in discussions and raise arising problems with the government bodies.  

The meeting was held within the framework of USAID Business Environment Improvement (BEI) project and its participants included representatives of more than 20 business and public associations being members of the Coordination Council of Business and Public Associations as well as senior representatives from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT), the State Committee for Investment and State-owned Property Management, the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT, the Customs Service, etc.
