DUSHANBE, July 7, 2008, Asia-Plus — The Dushanbe Rotary Club has provided $1,500 worth of humanitarian aid to a school in Khatlon’s Muminobod district.
The assistance, including three generators and various sports goods, was handed over to Muminobod’s School # 26 on July 5.
The Dushanbe Rotary Club head, Mr. Muhibullo Zuvaydulloyev, said that the generators are dedicated to ensure regular educational process, especially during winter months, when because of severe electricity shortages the school is not able to use computer technologies.
Three representatives of the Rotary Clubs in Turkey, including Aziz Aidinalp heading the regional network of Rotary Clubs, accompanied the British Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Graeme Loten, members of the Dushanbe Rotary Club and representatives of the US Embassy in Dushanbe and international organizations active in Tajikistan on the trip to the Muminobod district.
Established in 2005, the Dushanbe Rotary Club has 22 members, including representatives of local charitable organizations, as well as a number of international organizations and diplomatic missions accredited in the country.
