DUSHANBE, July 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Some 20 percent of buildings in Dushanbe are unserviceable and should be pulled down, Mirzohisayn Sultonov, the deputy head of the Agency for Construction and Architecture, told Asia-Plus today, following a press conference on the results of work carried out by Agency over the first six months of this year. 

According to him, he means ageing buildings and building, which are now in poor state.  

Asked about the pace of construction of new buildings in the Tajik capital, he assessed it as satisfactory.  He also pointed to the necessity of taking into account national traditions in urban development.
