DUSHANBE, July 25, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi and his Chinese counterpart, Minister Yang Jiechi,  are supposed to sign a program of cooperation between the ministries of feign affairs of Tajikistan and China for 2008-2009 in the governmental out-of-town residence Pugus today. 

According to the Tajik MFA, the document will be signed on completion of the ongoing meeting of the council of foreign ministers of member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Pugus.  

As it had been reported earlier, an official visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi to Tajikistan will start on July 26.  Yang is scheduled to hold talks with his Tajik counterpart Hamrokhon Zarifi, President Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev and Prime Minster Oqil Oqilov.  A number of bilateral documents are expected to be singed during Chinese foreign minister’s official visit. 

During the visit, the Chinese minister will also discuss preparations for the upcoming official visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao before the SCO summit.
