DUSHANBE, July 30, 2008, Asia-Plus  — China’s national exhibition is a good platform for further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and China, the exhibition director Lyu Jin Yuan remarked, while opening the Chinese National Exhibition entitled “Chinese-Tajik Trade and Investments”, in Dushanbe yesterday.  He called the exhibition “window to China”.

Tajik Minister of Economic Development and Trade Ghulomjon Bobozoda, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Zuo Xueliang, Tajikistan’s CCI Head Sharif Said and China’s Commerce Ministry Europe Department Head Sunny Yuan Fu also spoke at the inaugurating ceremony.

During the ceremony, it was noted that the exhibition is a historic event for both countries and bilateral relations between Tajikistan and China are now characterized by a high level.

The CCI head, in particular, said that the exhibition is a significant factor for attraction of investments.  According to him, Tajikistan and China are currently implementing more than 50 joint projects in sectors like hydropower, construction, trade and industry.  40 joint Tajik-Chinese ventures have been established in Tajikistan so far, according to him.

More than 70 large companies from six Chinese provinces are participating in the exhibition that is held in the space of 2,000 square meters.  Among them are China’s largest wireless and telecommunications manufacturer, ZTE, Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Co., Ltd (TBEA), Huawei (telecommunications producer), China Road, etc.

They have put on display their achievements in machinery, mining, telecommunications, jewelry and light industry at the fair, which runs through August 1.

The exhibition organizers are China’s Ministry of Commerce, the Government of Tajikistan and Tajik Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).  The Chinese Government has provided 2 million yuans for holding of the exhibition.
