DUSHANBE, August 5, 2008, Asia-Plus /Avaz Yuldoshev/ — Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi and Mr. Yoshihiro Nakayama, Charge D’Affaires, Japanese Embassy in Dushanbe, are signing today an agreement on awarding grant for improvement of water supply in Khatlon’s Hamadoni district, according to the Tajik MFA.   

Davlat Nazriyev, head of the MFA information department, said that the Government of Japan has allocated 955 million yens (equivalent to some $9 million) for implementation of the project, which is expected to be finished in the first half-year of 2011.   

In accordance with terms of the agreement, all necessary equipment, used for implementation of the project, should be manufactured in Japan or Tajikistan, the MFA spokesman said.
