DUSHANBE, August 7, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Issues related to interaction between the security services of Tajikistan and Russia in combating terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking as well as providing security during a meeting of heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) due in Dushanbe on August 28 were a major topic of a meeting of President Emomali Rahmon with visiting Director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, in Dushanbe on August 6, according to presidential press service. 

The same day, the FSB chief held talks with Chairman of Tajikistan’s State Committee for National Security, Khairddin Abdurahimov. 

Alexander Bortnikov arrived in Dushanbe Tuesday morning for a working visit.
