DUSHANBE, August 7, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Some 90,000 school children have had rest in summer camps during the first shift, Safarali Nozimov, director of the Republican Center for Out-of-School Activities within the Ministry of Education (MoE), said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him the majority of them, more than 67,000 teenagers, have had rest in summer camps in the Sughd province.  Besides, 195 labor camps and seven sports camps have been organized for senior high school students in northern Tajikistan.  

In the southern Khatlon province, some 21,000 teenagers have had rest in summer camps during the first shift, the MoE official said. 

In Gorno Badakhshan, 1,181 schoolchildren and teenagers have had rest in summer camps, and more than 2,000 schoolchildren have had rest in summer camps in districts subordinate to the center.
