On the occasion of Independence Day of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan will donate to the Afghan people 20 tons of foodstuffs and school accessories for schoolchildren. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov told about it on August 14 during his telephone conversation with President Khamid Karzai of Afghanistan.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated Khamid Karzai on the approaching holiday and wished peace and wellbeing to the people of the neighboring country. He stressed his adherence to the bonds of friendship and brotherhood of the two peoples sharing common spiritual roots.

As the Turkmen leader’s press service informed, Khamid Karzai expressed deep appreciation to Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people for the continuous assistance and support for Afghanistan. During the talk both leaders confirmed the mutual satisfaction with the level of interaction and the firm intention of the sides to continue strengthening and expanding the good neighborly partnership.
