DUSHANBE, August 22, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Open joint-stock company (OJSC) Orienbonk, Tajikistan’s largest commercial bank, has introduced a new money transfer system – MoneyGram. 

The source at Orienbonk said that the MoneyGram money transfer system had been introduced to meet customers’ requirements in available and convenient money transfer services.  

According to him, the MoneyGram money transfer system makes it easier to provide fast service to enhance the customer experience.  It takes as little as 10 minutes to send a MoneyGram money transfer around the world, depending on an agent”s hours of operation on the receiving end, the Orienbonk source said.

            “For the order send is enough to fill the form, maintain the document, certifying sender personality and give the order sum to the cash-desk.  Operator informs sender about the order number which must be informed to receiver too,” said the source, “The unique number is assigned to the order in moment of the send (8 symbols). It is enough to know the receiver country, surname and name. The order is ready for pay from the control number assignment.”

According to him, the commission fee rate depends on the amount of remittance – the larger amount of remittance the lower commission fee rate.  Thus the commission fee rate for transferring $100.00 is 12 percent, while the commission fee rate for transferring $10,000.00 is 3 percent.  

In the meantime, according to the web site of MoneyGram website in Russia, the commission fee rate for remittances from Russia to Tajikistan fluctuates from 5 percent to 1.5 percent, depending on the remittance amount.
