DUSHANBE, August 25, 2008, Asia-Plus – Iranian official in charge of trade affairs at Iranian Embassy in Tajikistan said on Saturday that trade between Iran and Tajikistan have undergone considerable growth, according to Iran’s news agency IRNA.   

Giving record of bilateral trade over the past several years, Parviz Samadi told IRNA that it had stood at US$40 million in 2000 compared with US$150 million last year, adding that the figure is increasing.

Samadi said that the two countries have already held seven meetings of the joint economic commission and several trade fairs.

He said that the Iranian and Tajik companies have implemented several major projects as well.
