KHUJAND, September 16, 2008 Asia-Plus  — The Sughd regional TV station intends to increase its audience, Ishoq Zokirov, head of the Sughd directorate for TV and radio-broadcasting, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.  

According to him, the Sughd regional TV will have been picked up by about 99 percent of the province population by the end of this year. 

“We are currently taking measures to purchase two transmitters with capacity of one kW each from Ukraine,” said Zokirov.  “They will be installed in Istaravshan and Isfara district.”

            The Sughd regional TV station currently airs eight hours per day – three hours in the morning and five hours in the evening.
