DUSHANBE, September 29, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Annual Education Fair, staged by the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF-Tajikistan) in partnership with Ministry of Education (MoE), diplomatic missions and international organizations active in Tajikistan, was held in Dushanbe on September 27.

The fair presented education programs of diplomatic missions, international organizations and some foreign universities.  Representatives from these organizations conduct consultations on education systems abroad, rules of preparation of documents and passing tests, as well as terms of getting financial support for studying.      

Taking place for the 7th time the education exhibition will also take place in Khujand (September 29), Khorog (October 9), Kulob (October 14) and Qurghon Teppa (October 15).

In 2007 alone, more than 3,000 people visited the fair to learn more about educational opportunities provided by international education organizations

In 2007-2008, Scholarship Program of OSI/AF-Tajikistan administered nine student/MA course programs and two academic programs.  30 persons (22 for MA course, one for bachelor”s degree course and seven university lecturers) were competitively selected from 300 applicants.
