NGOs and mass media to discuss Kazakh oil & gas sector

“Barrel of change. Kazakhstan oil and gas sector and sustainable development” workshop for NGOs and mass media will be organized in Almaty on November 27-28. Event will be organized with the assistance of Soros-Kazakhstan Foundation and OSCE Center in Astana.

Session will form a background for regular and professional coverage of transparency provision of primary sector income issues.

Participants will discuss challenges in Kazakhstan oil and gas industry; taxation of subsoil users (on the basis of Kazakhstan Tax Code); EITI in the world and in Kazakhstan; other initiatives in the sphere of primary sector income transparency increase; concept of Kazakhstan National Fund; transportation of energy resources; environmental impact of the extractive industry and etc.
