KHUJAND, December 3, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Sughd province has stocked 137,500 tons of fodder so far, while the target has been determined at 184,000 tons, the Sughd agriculture directorate head Bobojon Domulloyev announced at press conference in Khujand on December 2.

According to him, the fodder-stocking campaign is going one and farmers are taking real measures to fulfill the target.

“Since the beginning of this year, all categories of farms have produced 1,467 tons of meat, which is 5 tons more than in the same period of last year,” Domulloyev said, noting that “no sharp variations of met production capacity are expected in the province next year.”

However, he further added that it could not be ruled out that meat prices would rise slightly next year.
