Turkmenistan, Russia to establish cooperation in agriculture

The Russian First Deputy Prime Minister, Victor Zubkov, confirmed the Russian side”s readiness to assist Turkmenistan in growing grain crops, corn, lucerne and other farm crops at an interim meeting of the Turkmen-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation in Ashgabat.

Russia is receiving requests from the Turkmen side for procurement of farm equipment, V.Zubkov said.

The meeting also discussed prospects for Russian companies” joining pilot agricultural projects in Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat. It was noted that Russia and Turkmenistan would exchange specialists as part of these projects.
