DUSHANBE, December 15, 2008, Asia-Plus — Issue related to further expansion of economic cooperation between the regions of Tajikistan and Russia were the focus of a meeting of Odil Sangov, the deputy head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with S. Zelenkov, director general of the limited liability company Yarprommashimex, Russia’s Yaroslav region that was held Dushanbe last week, according to the CCI press service.
During the meeting, it was noted that entrepreneurs from the Khatlon province would visit the Yaroslav region next month and delegation of Yaroslav regional officials and entrepreneurs would visit Tajikistan in March 2009.
Khatlon entrepreneurs are supposed to hold a number of meetings with their counterparts in Yaroslav and visit local large industrial enterprises. Yaroslav entrepreneurs, for their part, will hold an exhibition of their products in Tajikistan, the press service said.
Sangov and Zelenkov also discussed issues related to construction of three small power plants – Obburdon, Urfatin and Yavroz – in Tajikistan, as well as participation of the Russian side in the project to complete construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power station (HPS).
