KHUJAND, December 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Today sees International Children’s Creativity Festival, entitled “Donak,” in Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province.

Taking place at the Khujand theatre named after Kamol Khujandi, the Festival has been organized under financial support of the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI-AF-Tajikistan), the Festival director, Ms. Habiba Jalilova, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to her, more than 70 children aged 6 to 14 with talents in music and dance from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are taking part in the Khujand Festival.  “Among them are prize-winners of competitions that were held in the United States, Spain and Bulgaria, Jalilova said.

At the end of the event, a jury will select winners in three categories: songs; dances; and playing national musical instruments.
