KULOB, December 31, 2008, Asia-Plus  — 80 veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 living in Kulob yesterday received 300 kilograms of coals each, according to the Kulob mayor’s office.

“Coals have been provided to the war veterans free of charge,” the source at the mayor’s office said.

The same day, representatives from the Kulob branch of the Society of Assistance to Defense of Tajikistan visited five veterans of war and labor and gave them New Year’s presents.  They also gave New Year’s presents to 25 young patients at the Kulob TB Center.
