DUSHANBE, January 19, 2009, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon introduced a number of staff changes at a January 15 government session reviewing the country’s economic results in 2008.

By president’s decree Nusratullo Davlatov, formerly first deputy head of the Tax Committee, was appointed as head of this committee, replacing Hakim Soliyev who was retired for age reasons.

Deputies of the head of the Tax Committee Bakhtiyor Sultonov, Khaybullo Zohirov and Hayot Ahmadov were also dismissed in connection with transfer to other jobs.

Saidmahamd Sharofiddinov, formerly deputy director general of the state natural-gas distributor, Tojikgaz, was appointed to head Tojikgaz, replacing Fathiddin Muhsiddinov.

Nobody has yet been appointed to the post of chairman of Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, after its head Sharifkhon Samiyev was sacked.  The president entrusted Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov with temporarily assuming management of the holding.

Mahmadsaid Zuvaydov was appointed to head open-joint-stock company (OJSC) Tojikcement (Dushanbe cement plant), replacing Mahmadrahim Karimov, who was dismissed in connection with transfer to other job.

By president’s decree Major-General Abdumannon Ghoziyev was relieved of his post of commander of the interior troops within the Ministry of Interior.  He was replaced by Major-General Ismonqul Ghoibov.

Abdulhakim Rozziqzoda, former chancellor of the Institute of Physical Training, was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Academy, replacing Fayz Dousotv, who was retired for age reasons.

Deputy Agriculture Minister Sulton Valiyev and deputy head of OJSC Naftrason (oil product) Leontiy Yan were dismissed in connection with transfer to other jobs.

Rahmonali Amirov, formerly first deputy head of the Sate Committee for Investments and State-owned Property (GosComInvest), was appointed as first Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

Muhabbatsho Rouzadorov, formerly deputy governor of Gorno Badakhshan, was appointed    as Presidential Adviser for Science and Modern Technologies, replacing Ms. Latofat Nasriddinova, who was retired for age reasons.

Deputy Finance Minister Sherali Safarov, Deputy Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Resources Kamol Nouraliyev and head of the state agency for labor, employment and social protection of the population within the Ministry of Labor Azam Soufiyev were retired for age reasons. 

Nourullo Mahmadulloyev was appointed to head the state agency for labor, employment and social protection of the population, Dilshod Ismatulloyev was appointed as director general of OJSC Tajikkhimprom (chemical industry), and Shod Safarov was appointed as chancellor of the Institute of Physical Training.
