DUSHANBE, January 22, 2009, Asia-Plus  — New British Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Trevor Moore, yesterday presented a copy of credentials to Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi.

According to the MFA information department, the two discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom.

We will recall that Mr. Trevor Moore was appointed Her Majesty”s Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan in succession to Mr. Graeme Loten.

Ambassador Moore is a career diplomat. He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1980 and served as Deputy Head of the FCO Human Right, Democracy and Governance Group 2007-2008.  In 2004-2007, he served as Deputy Head of the FCO Counter-Proliferation Department and in 2001-2004, Mr. Moore was the Deputy Head of the FCO Latin America and Caribbean Department.  In 1982-2001, he served in overseas postings in Belgrade, New York, Washington and Vienna.

Mr. Moore is married with three sons.
