DUSHANBE, January 28, 2009, Asia-Plus — Deputy head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Odil Sangov yesterday received an Egyptian delegation led by Maha Mahmoud al-Vakil, director general of the Eastern Europe Department within the Ministry for International Cooperation, according to the CCI press service.
The Egyptian delegation arrived in Tajikistan to participate in the first session of the intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt that was held in Dushanbe on January 26.
During the meeting, representatives of the Egyptian delegation briefed on activities of their companies and expressed interest in entering Tajikistan’s pharmaceutical market. The side discussed the possibility of the delivery of veterinary medicines produced by Egypt’s Vaksira to Tajikistan.
Besides, taking into account the fact that Tajikistan is rich in medicinal herbs, Egyptian entrepreneurs offered their assistance with solving marketing and packaging problems, the press service said.
