DUSHANBE, March 2, 2009, 2009, Asia-Plus — After being closed for nearly four years, the domestic air route from Qurghon Teppa, the regional center of Khatlon province to Khujand, the regional center of Sughd province is reopened on March 3, Asia-Plus has learned from Ms. Nazira Davlatova, a spokesman for the Tajik Air Company, Tajik Air.

According to her, the company will operate the flight Qurghon Teppa-Dushanbe-Khujand twice a week – on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Yakovlev-40 will be used to operate this flight.  The price of air ticket on this flight is 65 dollars, the spokeswoman said.

She further added that representatives from Latvian air company would arrive in Tajikistan this month to discuss launching an air route from Dushanbe to Riga.

Will recall that establishment of aerial communication between Tajikistan and Latvia was discussed during Tajik president’s visit to Latvia last month.  Tajikistan and Latvia singed a government-to-government agreement on aerial communication.
