DUSHANBE, March 20, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide 40 million US dollars to support Tajikistan’s national budget, according to the Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (MoH).
This issue was discussed at the a meeting of Finance Minister Safarali Najmuddinov and visiting ADB”s Vice-President Xiaoyu Zhao in Dushanbe yesterday. An appropriate agreement is expected to be singed in the near future.
In the course of the talks, the sides also discussed the financial and economic situation that had emerged in Tajikistan in connection with the global financial crisis and exchanged views on measures to mitigate effects of the crisis, the source said.
