KHUJAND, April 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Since the beginning of this year, four residents of the Sughd province have been detained in the Russian Federation for drug trafficking, the acting prosecutor of the Sughd province Muzaffar Boqiyev told reporters in Khujand on April 17.

“In all, 831 grams of narcotic drug have been confiscated from them,” the prosecutor said.

Over the first three months of this year, the Sughd law enforcement agencies have seized some 227 kilograms of drugs, with more than 103 kilograms of them being heroin, Boqiyev said.
