DUSHANBE, April 21, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Reduction of government expenses having resulted from the global financial crisis will not affect the road rehabilitation projects, Nizom Hakimov, director of the road rehabilitation unit within the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, the road rehabilitation and construction projects have been financed properly due to the government funds as well as foreign investments and grants.

Hakimov noted that the crisis had even had a positive impact to implementation of the projects to a certain extent.  “Prices of fuels and some building materials have decreased,” the director said, noting that the unit currently implements six investment projects.
