DUSHANBE, April 30, 2009, Asia-Plus – Tajik Corner has opened at Montana University.

The Corner-opening ceremony was attended by Tajik Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Abdujabbor Shirinov, Montana University Provost, Mr. Royce Engstrom, and Montana University Associate Provost for International Programs, Dr. Mehrdad Kia.  They noted that opening of Tajik Corner would help residents of Montana and students at Montana University make a better acquaintance of Tajikistan.

A collection of handicrafts and artifacts as well as books and photographs telling culture and history of the Tajik people were put on display at an art exhibit.

All the exhibits were donated to the University, which has close working and research ties with educational facilities of Tajikistan and the Tajik Embassy in Washington.

The event ended with a concert performed by Tajik students studying at Montana University.
