DUSHANBE, April 30, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Wednesday April 29, Finance Minister Safarali Najmiddinov met here with representatives from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Saudi Fund for Development and OPEC Fund for International Development, according to press service of the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

In the course of the talks, the sides exchanged views on impact of the global economic crisis and mechanisms to mitigate its effects.  They, in particular, discussed the progress of implementation of projects in the fields of health, education, energy and transportation that were being realized in Tajikistan under support of a number of Arab financial institutions.

Najmiddinov noted that Tajikistan was ready to promote further expansion of cooperation with international financial institutions for implementation of joint programs and projects, the press service said.
