DUSHANBE, May 6, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On May 5, an average exchange rate of the US dollar against the somoni in Dushanbe’s currency exchange offices was 1:4.15, press service of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) said.

According to the NBT press service, current state of the domestic currency market shows that demand for foreign currency has been supplied and “a certain demand for the national currency has increased in some cases.”

An official exchange rate of the US dollar against the somoni set by the Tajik central bank for May 6 is 1:3.9605.
