DUSHANBE, May 7, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Ukraine is seeking readmission agreement with Tajikistan.

Speaking to reporters in Kiev, Ukrainian Deputy Interior Minister, Victor Marmazov, noted on April 16 that Ukraine intends to conclude agreements with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Italy on readmission of persons residing without authorization (illegal migrants) to their countries of origin, Ukrainian news agency, Ukrainski Novini, reports.

According to him, preparation of document with Italy is still in the initial stage and consultations are under way while negotiations with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are going on.

Marmazov also noted that negotiations with Armenia and Lebanon on signing of the readmission agreements are nearing completion.

Ukraine has concluded readmission agreements with 15 countries, mainly the CIS satiate, so far, the news agency said.
