DUSHANBE, July 3, 2009, Asia-Plus — A One-Stop-Shop (OSS) system has worked in Tajikistan since July 1.
Speaking at the OSS system presentation, Mr. Arthur Luca, Manager of the European Union (EU) Project, Support to the Creation of a One Stop Shop for Business Registration, pointed out the importance of constructive cooperation between Tajikistan’s Tax Committee and international partners, in particular the European Union and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID.
It was noted that responding to the Tajik president’s initiative, this EU Project supports the Tax Committee to implement the OS system across the country to make it easy for private businesses to set up, and to encourage new investment.
Creation of the One Stop Shop will improve the Tajikistan’s attraction to international and external investment and help local businesses set up and develop. Among the OSS-opening opportunities are also easier and faster registration of new business, lower costs, single location and single visit to registers, easy to close down a business, and reduced chances for corruption.
The first deputy head of the Tax Committee, Ayubjon Soliyev, noted that the OSS system had already been introduced in the committee’s sub-divisions. According to him, the OSS system would be implemented across the country with use of modern computer technologies and electronic databases would give effective service.
