DUSHANBE, July 27, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Friday July 24, transportation police officers at the Khujand airport warded off an attempt by drug peddler to transport 500 grams of heroin to Moscow, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

An inspection of passengers on the flight Khujand-Moscow found two packages containing 500 grams of heroin hidden in shoes of the Isfara resident Yoqubjon Manazarov, the source at a MoI said.

The same day, one kilogram of heroin was found in house of Ms. Mashhoura Turdiyeva in Khatlon’s Panj district.
