DUSHANBE, August 12, 2009 Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan has supplied 450 million kWh of electrical power to Uzbekistan to this date, according to Tajik power holding Barqi Tojik.

We will recall that under the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Tajikistan pledged itself to supply 450 million kWh of electricity to the neighboring country during this spring-summer period in exchange for 300 million kWh of electricity that it was supposed to receive from Uzbekistan in autumn-winter 2008-2009.

In the meantime, Uzbekistan supplied 248 million kWh of electricity to Tajikistan from February 27 to May 1 this year.  “Uzbekistan will supply the remaining 52 million kWh of electricity to Tajikistan in the autumn,” the Barqi Tojik source said.
