DUSHANBE, August 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan’s Western Provinces have singed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral cooperation, according to the Tajik CCI press service.

The document  was inked by Tajik CCI head Said Sharif and the head of the CCI of Afghanistan’s Western Provinces Gulam Qadir Akbar in Dushanbe yesterday.  The document-signing ceremony was also attended by the Afghan Ambassador to Tajikistan Said Mohammad Khairkhah.

In the course of the talks, the two expressed satisfaction with the current level of trade and economic ties between Tajikistan and Afghanistan and opportunities for further expansion of them.  They also expressed readiness to promote further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries, the press service said.
