Swine flu hits Kyrgyzstan

Date:

Two cases of A/H1N1 flu have been registered for the first time in Kyrgyzstan, Sabirjan Abdykarimov, chief sanitary physician of Kyrgyzstan said at the meeting in the White House on Monday.

Two citizens of Kyrgyzstan have been taken to the Republican Clinical Infectious Hospital on August 18 with general flu symptoms. “A 24-year-old man and his wife complained of sickness, asthenia, headache, fever, stuffiness in nose and a short cough. As it was found out later, the patient has stayed in Dubai in mid August,” the physician added.

Primary laboratory tests, performed in the republic, have shown that the spouses were A/H1N1 positive. “Results of the test have been sent to Moscow, where the diagnosis was confirmed,” Abdykarimov said.
