DUSHANBE, October 5, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajik private air carrier, Somon Air, has announced introduction of a web-based ticket airline ticket booking system.

Timur Bandishoyev, the head of the Somon Air press service, said that the goal of the system is to make people purchase airline tickets easily.  With development of Internet and security technology, more than more people begin to consume online, which is more convenient and personal than traditional way.

According to him, they are currently also working on introducing the online ticket selling system, which together with the online airline ticket booking system is one of the essential applications of E-commerce.

The Somon Air is an airline based in Dushanbe.  It is the first private air carrier in Tajikistan.  The Somon Air fleet now includes two Boeing 737-800s, and the company is expected to purchase two or four other planes in the near future.
