DUSHANBE, November 24, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi yesterday met here with Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Jayalath Weerakkody, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

In the course of the talks, the two discussed a broad range of issues related cooperation between Tajikistan and Sri Lanka both in bilateral and multilateral format.

Zarifi, in particular, noted that the government of Tajikistan supported territorial integrity of friendly countries and welcomed successes made by the government of Sri Lanka in fighting separatist groups.

He also noted that Tajikistan and Sri Lanka had a good potential for expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
