DUSHANBE, December 7, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The government has opened special bank accounts for collection of funds to help construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP), according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

The bank account for collection of funds in the national currency, the somoni, has been opened at the MoF board of treasury, and the bank account for collection of funds in USD has been opened at Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank).  Besides, the bank account for collection of funds in Russian ruble (RR) will be opened within the next few days, the source at a MoF said.

“The face value of one share in open joint-stock company (OJSC), NBO (nirugohi barqi obi (hydroelectric power plant) Roghun, will be 100 somoni and the Certificates of Shares of different face values (in 500, 1000, 5000 and so on somoni) will be issued.  “Shares give their holder the right to participate in management of the Roghun HPP (one share — one voice) and participate in distribution of the company’s profits.”

Besides, holder has the right to resell shares to other physical or legal entity.  The shares are sold only to Tajik nationals.

Shares in NBO Roghun will be realized through banks, financial departments of president’s office, ministries and organizations and other state-controlled institutions, the source added.
