Majlisi Namoyandagon sets up commission for buying shares in Roghun

DUSHANBE, December 17, 2009, Asia-Plus — Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) and as well as its staff members have decided to give up their one-day’s wages to help construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP), Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said.

According to him, MPs have also expressed readiness to buy shares in Roghun that will be made available for trading on the country”s stock market in 2010.

“A special commission has been set up within the Majlisi Namoyandagon to control the process of realization of shares to parliamentarians,” the spokesman said.
