GBAO drug control directorate burns over 60 kilos of drugs

KHOROG, December 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The GBAO drug control directorate burned more than 60 kilograms of narcotics, including more than 4 kilograms of heroin, yesterday.

Oqiz Khudododov, a chief investigator with the GBAO drug control directorate, told Asia-Plus that the drug were confiscated in the course of 2008-09.

According to him, the GBAO law enforcement authorities have seized 127 kilograms of narcotics, including 27 kilograms of heroin, in January-November this year.  Of that, 81.6 kilograms of drugs have been seized by officers from the drug control directorate.

“Eight criminal proceedings have been instituted against eleven persons on the drug charges over the report period,” Khudododov said.
